LTE International Airways, a low-fare Spanish carrier, has suspended operations. According to a news article in Spain's El Mundo, the announcement cited financial reasons. LTE also notified crews that operations would be ceased "temporarily," mentioning banking problems. A source quoted by El Mundo also said that the airline may be preparing to declare bankruptcy. Spain's Dirección General de Aviación Civil (DGAC) must now decide whether to withdraw LTE International's operator's certificate.
LTE International Airways is based in Palma de Mallorca. It operates both chartered and scheduled passenger flights, using a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft.
